In 2027, the World Cup is coming to Sweden, more specifically, Alfta in Hälsingland. The event, which is held in conjunction with the local Ösaträffen, includes competitions in long distance, middle distance and relay.

The event is organized by Swedish Orienteering in collaboration with Alfta Ösa OK and Ovanåkers municipality. The goal is to hold a competition that attracts top-level orienteers to Hälsingland.

– We look forward to welcoming the world's best orienteers to Hälsingland, and it will be exciting to see how they master our challenging terrain. Coordinating the World Cup competitions with Ösaträffen is an exciting challenge that we hope the participants will appreciate. We are getting help from virtually all the orienteering clubs in Hälsingland to bring this major event to fruition, says Event director Thomas Ericson, Alfta Ösa OK.

Sweden has previously hosted several international orienteering events, and the 2027 World Cup in Hälsingland is another step in this development. Public competitions will be held alongside the World Cup, with the popular Ösaträffen being one of them.
